Blogs, Friends, & Friends’ Blogs

Maybe it’s lame to begin this journey by talking about other blogs, but I get a lot of inspiration from the blogverse and I think it’s important to give a wink & a nod to my fearless trailblazers. Of course, I’d like to start with people I ACTUALLY know! Blogs are strange because you begin to feel a one-sided friendship forming. I feel like I have several friends that I’ve never met just through reading their posts. I’ll be introducing some of those later on, but for now here’s a few real friends!

DJ Evil Vince, AKA Christopher May, is one of my favorite photographers. This photograph of William Ordway Partridge’s statue of William Shakespeare in Chicago is one of my recent favorite photographs. Exploring through his site will take you from beautiful landscapes of New Zealand, Arizona deserts, and Chicago cityscapes to amazing backstage views of terrific concerts. My husband & I are very lucky to count Chris as one of our dearest friends.

Darby Strong has been a close friend of mine for many years now and has always been a source of inspiration, laughter, pontification, and sometimes, inebriation. Recently Darby began Project GreenSpot which is shaping up to be an important contributor to the overall greening of design, building, and general goods and services. Ms. Darby left us in Chicago for Bluffton, SC with her prolific blogger of a boyfriend, David Burn. From discussing politics, music, literature, cinema to posting brief but informative travelogues, his blog Burnin’ has a wealth of information to discover.

So to Darby, David, and Chris I give you my heartiest wink & a nod! Congratulations on being the first to join my blogroll. I know the excitement of this honor is reward enough.
