Always Inspired With Whimsy Press
I cannot get over the new line of green products at Whimsy Press!
I also love their other products, like this stunning wedding gift wrap:
Indeed! I fell in love with these bookplates:
As a notorious lender of books, I simply MUST have these. I will strive to always have whimsy in my life & Whimsy Press on this blog!!!
Green Whimsy
First of all, let me say that last night’s event at Jayson Home & Garden was AWESOME. I saw several of the treasures I’ve posted from that store in person & they are even more gorgeous up close! I’ll post pictures we took at the event tomorrow & leave them up over the weekend. If you are in the city this weekend-you HAVE to go.
And now, back to business. Yesterday I received an email from Whimsy Press about their new line of recycled tote bags. These bags are made from recycled cotton and old soda bottles, which is just cool. Even cooler, however, is the killer graphics the bags feature:
I heart that last graphic so very much. And since I can’t visit Whimsy without ogling the gift wrap:
This stunning Blue Bird gift wrap is on FSC certified paper & contains 30% post-consumer fiber. Neat! Anyway, I hope you have a happy Friday.
Erin Ruth Wrap
I love when I find something that just makes my heart sing. Today, I found gorgeous gift wrap from Erin Ruth while browsing Etsy. A few minutes later, I saw this post on the fantastic Design for Mankind blog. Weird. Anyway, this is some very pretty paper:
How much do I heart that green Felicity Gift Wrap? Too, too much! More of my favorite Erin Ruth picks are after the jump.
A Whimsical Holiday
Since Christmas is really too close for comfort, I thought I’d check in with one of my FAVORITE gift wrap companies to see what they are offering for the Holiday season. Of course my friends at Whimsy Press did not disappoint:

(Even more festive wrappings after the jump.)
Blossom Creations
Much of my love for gift-wrap & stationery also causes me to feel extreme guilt. I love it all so much, but sometimes I feel like I am personally slaughtering trees with my own bare hands to sate my appetite for pretty paper products. Thank goodness for companies like Blossom Creations! This Australian company is really making strides in making recycled products pretty:
(More of Blossom Creations after the jump!)
Virtu Chicago
I can’t wait to have a free weekend to spend exploring some of the great design stores in Chicago. Just today I discovered another one while searching for Beth Mueller pottery. Virtu is located at 2034 N. Damen & I already adore almost everything in this shop.
Here’s the gorgeous pottery I was looking for:

But, exploring through the site I found lots of wonderful treasures, like these works of art from Laura Zindel:

Then, when I saw they carried products from two of my favorite paper companies, Like Snow & Graham:

And Egg Press:

I knew I’ve found a wonderful new shop to visit. I love Chicago!
Speaking of Chicago, if you are in the area tomorrow from 4-7 pm, feel free to stop by the Chicago Ale House at 2220 W. Lawrence Avenue to attend the benefit for my husband Casey’s film project, Altered Boy. There is a $25 charge, but you will receive two free drink tickets, and a raffle to win some great prizes. There will also be a full buffet & a preview of the film. Have a terrific weekend!
Cute Craft Project
I know I’ve mentioned A Little Hut before, but she just posted the cutest gift tag craft on her website:
This looks like a simple, clever way to spice up your gifts with a little craftiness. There are instructions & a materials list here. Sorry if this post looks a little wonky, I am trying to post from work instead of on our awesome Mac at home! Have a great day.
A New Gift-Wrap Shopping Discovery!
I must have been living under a rock, because I had never heard of Luxe Paperie. Look at all the pretty gift-wrap:

These fun, colorful gift-wraps are from Seltzer. Exploring around their site is a worthwhile experience I assure you! Luxe Paperie also had cute stuff from Chicago’s own Jack & Lulu:

I adore these pieces from another great Chicago company, Snow & Graham:

Wrapping gifts in any of these papers would make me so very happy!!! Yeah for gift-wrap!!!
Feeling Whimsical…
I have a confession to make. I am addicted to Whimsy. I know I’ve mentioned their amazing products before, but I was browsing through the site & discovered a whole slew of sensational stuff. The Occasion Cards are fantastic:

I also loved the journals:

(This one is called Hollywood Hills, perfect for me to jot down my thoughts about my new guilty pleasure TV show!)
The reversible placemats would be a great housewarming gift:

Finally, I was thrilled to see a wall art section:

Looking at all of these pretty things just makes my soul sing! Have a wonderful day.
Everyone, That’s a Wrap!
I love presents! I love getting them, but more than anything, I enjoy giving them. Mostly, because I love wrapping paper, ribbons & bows. I think Maria von Trapp would be singing a different tune these days. “Brown paper packages tied up with string?” Ugh. Only if the brown paper was of a crisp fine quality & the string was a beautiful pink or baby blue ribbon. I have been known to spend exorbitant amounts of cash on wrapping paper. I love Carolyne Roehm’s products:

And my favorites:

These are lovely & romantic. But, if you want something with a little more flavor try the fantastic Whimsy Press:

And my favorite, Gritty in Pink:

Not only does their wrapping paper have fantastic names, but their site is lovely and easy to use. They have the perfect balance of cute & subversive in their products that I find very appealing.
I also found a ton of great wrapping paper at Kate’s Paperie:

You might think this post is showing excessive amounts of gift wrap, but someday I will post pictures of my wrapping accessories cupboard & you’ll see that this is nothing. What can I say? It’s my secret shame. Although, now that I told everyone, not so secret anymore. And now that I think about it, not so shameful. So, it’s my perfectly healthy & normal obsession. That’s it for this wrap session. Ciao!
