Put A Monster In Your Closet-SEIBEI
Did I mention how many cool t-shirt designers were at Renegade? I did? Good, because I have a ton to feature. I loved the SEIBEI booth. I love monsters & shirts like these are right up my alley:

I was sad to hear that SEIBEI had their cashbox stolen from their booth on Sunday. People suck sometimes. I hope that they weren’t put off enough to not return to Chicago & Renegade. I look forward to seeing more of the funny stuff coming from this company.

Renegade Spotlight: Red Prairie Press
At Renegade I was blown away by all the amazing T-Shirt designs we found. One booth that really caught my eye was The Red Prairie Press. Here are some of my favorite things I found on their site:

I love the baby stuff. Too cute:

There’s also wonderful artwork & gorgeous prints:

That one is my favorite. How cute would that be framed in a kitchen? I was also informed that the lovely Rachel from Red Prairie Press helped start a craft group in Baltimore that just won a Best of Baltimore award! Congratulations to the crafty ladies of Baltimore. And to everyone else, Happy Friday!

Afternoon With Etsy-All Pirate Edition
Avast ye maties! It be time for an all pirate Afternoon with Etsy. I have always loved pirates, even before they were cool. I think it began when I watched the 1983 film version of Pirates Of Penzance with the incomparable Linda Ronstadt & the utterly fantastic Kevin Kline. Of course, I adore this pirate:

So, I thought I’d search for pirate booty on Etsy. The first thing that caught my eye was this:

These PirateBot gift tags are in the shop of a 7-year old boy: Roboboy! He only draws robots, which I think is cool. The PirateBot is also available as a note card:

I dig this OctopusBot:

More pirate items I thought were interesting were found in the shop of Crystal J.

These hand-painted silk scarves are perfect to pull back your hair as you swab the deck. I think they’re totally fun! Also fun is this gorgeous jewelry I found in the Morning Glory Designs shop:

Wouldn’t this add a touch of irreverance to a glamourous evening out? For more irreverance, you should definitely check out Juror 2:

Pirate Vs. Ninja? AWESOME!!! I also loved this shirt which could be somewhat Pirate-themed:

I’m sure pirates ran into witch doctors while exploring tropical islands. Anyway, Juror 2 is completely worth a visit either through the Etsy shop, or the formal site.
And finally, one last image from the fantastic Black Apple:

This is Pirate Girl, kind of like me! Toodle-loo.

SNAP To It.
Sorry it has been so long in between posts. I’ve just begun a temp assignment & wasn’t prepared for how little time I would have for blogging. Hopefully, I can get some posts together this weekend for next week. Now, back to your regularly scheduled Big Daddy Seashell!
I am in love with my handbag. I’ve had it for two years now & am still basking in compliments. I found my SNAP Design bag through a great online shopping site from Denver, Composition. I periodically check up on SNAP Design to see if they have any new products & am never disappointed. The designer & manufacturer, Michelle Kline, is super friendly & sent me all of these lovely photos for your enjoyment. First up are the handbags (this is the style I currently carry):

I think this Black 2Dot is my new handbag. I love it so much!

I adore the laptop bags:

The orange Lap Top bag is so awesome! There are also wonderful totes:

Here’s a back view of the same tote:

The quality of these bags is incredible for someone who makes each & everyone herself. Plus they are affordable, unique & gorgeous. Let’s give this girl two SNAPs! Or, better yet, visit the site & nab one of your own.

My Bad Taste & BCBG-Spring 2008
I am slowly learning about fashion. I just pick out the looks I like and try to emulate it at home for CHEAP. I had no clue that Gwen Stefani’s work was so abhorrent to the fashion community as this article pointed out. Guess I prefer the “blob” & “ditzville”. I just thought it looked fun. Oh well, it’s not like I’m going to be on any worst-dressed lists in the near future. Maybe this is more high fashion, the BCBG Max Azria Spring 2008 collection:

I do love this collection. It looks light & airy, & the colors are soft and pretty. The entire collection works as a whole. Now to go read more about fashion!

Mary Had A Little L.A.M.B.
And, it turns out a raging Benedryl buzz. Arrggghhh. Allergies again!!! Anyway, here are some of my favorite pieces from Gwen Stefani’s Spring 2008 L.A.M.B. collection:

And here’s the cool lady herself:

I’ve always loved her style & I really like this collection. It does feel a little more Fall to me than Spring, but it’s not too shabby at all. I adore the sweaters.

Jeweled Elegance
I don’t remember how I found Jeweled Elegance, but I am so glad that I did. I ordered several pairs of the gorgeous earrings for gifts last year and was completely impressed with the quality of each piece. I also loved the adorable packaging that came with them. I spent most of the afternoon trying to pick my favorite pieces to share with you. There are so many to show, so I’ll start with the earrings:

There are also lots of pretty necklaces:

I especially love all the bird-themed pieces. Those nests are to die for! There are also pretty things for your hair:

I also visit the Jeweled Elegance blog regularly. There are a lot of fun ideas to inspire. Actually, today I joined my first ever swap:

If anyone would like to join, you can get more information here. I have never done anything quite like this. I hope I can make something worthy of a swap. For some reason, the image of 1950’s style ball gowns keep popping up in my mind. Anyway, I hope you all have a great long weekend!

Afternoon With Etsy-Episode 6
It’s all going to the birds today. I just love when I type a word into the Etsy search engine & stumble upon one of my favorite artist’s shops. Today, the fantastic work of Matte Stephens kept coming up & I couldn’t resist sharing some of my favorite pieces:

I liked the bird-themed pendants at Madison Craft Studio:

More great art can be found at Ink & Wit:

I couldn’t resist these postcards:

For something wearable, I found fun stuff at The Stevester:

I hope you enjoyed my latest Etsy picks. Bye, bye birdies!

True Love & False Idols
I hope everybody had a great weekend! We had fun at the Slay-A-Thon & walked away with a few prizes. The event managed to raise $15,000 for Make-A-Wish, which was great. Next year, Casey & I are planning on doing better on the fund raising aspect. Mr. Plopculture has filled my mailbox with fantastic pictures of wonderful products, so today we are ogling the True Love & False Idols Women’s Summer into Fall 2007 collection:

I heart this Crocodile Tears sweater. The colors are fantastic & I love the embroidered details. Also fantastic is this hoodie:

This is the Bad Girl Ivory Hoodie’s reverse side:

This is the Torn Apart T-Shirt. I also like the Girls League T-Shirt:

My favorites though are the Fatal Attraction:

The Stained Grey:

And the absolutely fabulous When Doves Cry:

You can find some wonderful TLFI products online here. Have a super day!

Bell Bottom Blues
I think every girl spends some of her life on the quest for the perfect jean. It’s the holy grail of anyone’s wardrobe. The fantastic Mr. Plopculture sent me pictures of the Fall 2007 line from Kasil Jeans. I like denim companies who make products to suit all body types. Visiting their wonderful site, I found products that could flatter anyone’s figure. So, without further ado:

The Alyssa Jean

The Caitlin Jean

The Celine-Skinny Jean

The Dakota (My personal fave!)

The Sullivan Jean

The Tribeca Jean

The Voodoo Jean
I encourage you to click on the photos to see the entire image (still trying to figure out my Photoshop!) & to visit the Kasil Jeans site for more information & to view the wonderful Men’s line.
