Last year I was introduced to Rainbow Gate ceramics by two of my lovely friends, Dale & Stefanie. They registered for the Santa Fe made ceramics for their wedding two years ago. I adore their unique, colorful products:

Dressing Room Decor
I know I said I wouldn’t be posting any more this week, but since I learned that legendary stage & screen actor, Paul Scofield, died on Wednesday; and I found this interesting article in the New York Times, I decided I couldn’t resist.
I’ve always loved theatres. When I acted in college and high school my favorite moments rarely happened onstage, they happened backstage, often in the dressing rooms. There is something special about putting on make-up in front of a mirror, making your character come to life. I adored putting on the various costumes and seeing someone new when I looked in the mirror. I even love the smells. The make-up, the powders, the mustiness of the costumes, even the hair spray. It was all part of the magic. So, today when I read the article about Broadway actors & how they designed their dressing rooms, I was moved. I loved seeing Andrea Martin’s dressing room for Frau Blucher in Young Frankenstein:

And Sherie Rene Scott’s dressing room for Ursula in The Little Mermaid:

If you get a chance, & you love theatre as much as I do, read the article. There’s also a slide show & a wonderful picture of the amazing Harvey Fierstien’s dressing room. So much fun. Anyhoo, this is it for me this week. Have a hoppy weekend. (Get it? Because of Easter I said hoppy!)

Arthur C. Clarke 1917-2008
Arthur C. Clarke, one of the world’s most well known science fiction writers, passed away yesterday at the age of 90. I will never forget reading 2001:A Space Odyssey for the first time my freshman year of high school. It changed the way I think about life, science & the future.
Some of the images from the film, which was a tremendous collaboration between Mr. Clarke & Stanley Kubrick, left a serious impression on me. I know I will be revisiting this film very soon. There is a wonderful article about Arthur C. Clarke and his contributions to literature and science at the New York Times. You can see some wonderful images from the film here. I will be unable to post the rest of the week, so I’d like to wish, to those of you who celebrate, a Happy Easter! Cheers.

The Inspiration of Hope
I don’t usually try and involve my politics into this blog, but I was very inspired today by Barack Obama’s speech on race. You can find a text version here or watch a video here. I encourage you to read or watch this incredible speech. The picture above by Obey artist Shepard Fairey I borrowed from my friend Evil Vince’s site.

With My Millions….
I would buy this purse I fell head-over-heels in love with this week:
I ADORE this lovely bag from Coach. I’m so glad that designers are moving away from the Logos and back to more classic forms. I never liked that trend myself. I’m more of a solid color purse kind of girl. I hope you have a great day.
